New lens, Nikons 16-35mm f4

Recently I sold my old Nikon 28-70mm f2.8. I found little to no use for it considering I had other lenses that I found took more quality portraits like the 85mm, or 70-200mm.  I found myself using the 28-70 specifically during a wedding reception, and even then the 28mm just wasn't wide enough to capture every moment on the dance floor.  So, I decided to sell the old guy and buy a brand new Nikon 16-35mm f4, a lens that I have been eyeing for quite some time now.

This lens has brought me so much joy in the last month and I think it has so many purposed other than landscapes, which is what most photographers seem to use it for. During receptions I am able to capture super wide shots on the dance floor and really see whats going on in there. Now you might be thinking that there is some distortion, which there is. The distortion is literally a one click fix in lightroom, and quite honestly I do not mind a little bit of distortion when shooting fun dancing shots at 16mm.

All in all, could not be happier with this purchase and definitely looking forward to taking it on  the road with me next month as I drive from Colorado to California!
